Helping Hand for Nicaragua
HANDS. MINDS. HEARTS.
Nica needs them all.
Since early 2018, Nicaragua has been devastated by a political crisis. The tourism industry many communities depend on has nearly been wiped out, leaving families and businesses in despair.
Out of this anguish, HELPING HAND FOR NICARAGUA was born.
Local business owner, Horacio Reyes, saw his once vibrant community diminishing and knew he had to be the one to step up. He formed Helping Hand for Nicaragua, a Nicaraguan based non-profit, as a way to provide assistance to every aspect of his community from people to nature.
J. James took a trip to visit Horacio and his community in San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua in March of 2019. We were so inspired by the work they're doing with the community children, the beach clean ups, and the volunteer programs they're organizing that we knew we had to get involved.
We've decided to donate 50% of all proceeds from our Pockets With Purpose Tees & Tanks all summer long to help Horacio continue to improve his community.
Stay tuned this summer as we'll be providing additional ways to get involved. Whether it be donating money directly or doing a volunteer exchange program (Horacio offers free meals & accommodations in exchange for volunteering with the program), we'll be linking anyone interested directly with the program.
